Q. What style of martial arts do you teach?

A. Our program is not a style of martial arts, but rather a self defense program.  We don’t teach to any specific style or sport.  We teach what really works in defending yourself in a violent confrontation.

Q. Do you teach MMA?

A. No. Our program is NOT “mixed martial arts” – rather, it is Integrative Martial Arts. By this definition we make the important distinction that, no matter where a particular training approach, technique, or method may originate, if it works we integrate it. Period.

And while we do integrate some skills and training methods from MMA, the goal of our program is survival under life-threatening conditions in an uncontrolled environment, without weight classes, referees, or time limits. Because of this, the program necessarily focuses only on those skills that apply to self-defense instead of competition.

Q. How much does your program cost?

A. Group classes are $100/month for 2x/week ($70/month if you are an active member of CrossFit Champions).

We are also available for Private Training.

Q. Is the monthly tuition a contract?

A. No. You will not be locked into a contract. The tuition is month to month, set up on an automatic payment schedule through your checking account or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover).

Q. Is there an enrollment fee?

A. Yes.  The enrollment fee is $300 and includes: training gloves, shin guards, mouth piece, fight shorts, school t-shirt… and your first month’s tuition.

Q. Is Champions Combat Arts affiliated with any organizations?

A. Yes.  We are affiliated with the American Combat Arts Federation and Blauer Tactical USA.

Q. Do I have to wear a uniform?

A. Yes and no.  We don’t wear traditional karate uniforms.  Instead we wear mma fight shorts and school t-shirt.

Q. Do you rank test, and if so, are there any testing fees?

A. The goal of our program, first and foremost, is to teach you the skills necessary to defend yourself in a real-life violent encounter. You do NOT have to rank test to continue training in our program for as long as you like. However, if you are interested in testing with the ultimate goal of becoming a certified instructor in our system, you can do so…without fees.
